CPI(M) leader murdered in Tripura

Agartala, Nov 8: A local CPI(M) leader was murdered by some unknown miscreants at Dasda in Tripura's north district, a delayed report reaching here today said.

Party secretary, Dasda branch, Naresh Chandra Debnath was murdered while cooking at his Kanchanpur residence on Monday, police said.

He (75) was attacked by some unknown miscreants with sharp weapons, police added. He was alone at home during attack.

The reason behind the killing was not immediately known as investigation was on.

The CPI(M) condemned the crime and took out protest rally at Kanchanpur and Dasda.

Meanwhile in another incident a lorry driver was killed on the spot following landslides on the vehicle at Matai under Belonia sub-division in South District yesterday. Another labour was also injured in it.
