Consumer Forum imposes fine on Kuvempu University
Davanagere, Nov 8: District Consumer Redressal Forum has directed the Kuvempu University to a pay compensation of Rs 2,000 to a student for its failure to issue the Degree Certificate for which he was eligible.
Finding guilty on the part of the University, Forum President Nadig Jayaswamy in his verdict delivered yesterday, also slapped a fine of Rs 25 per day if the University fails to issue the Degree Certificate to the Student within 30 days.
Mr G K Shivaraj, in a petition filed before the forum had appealed that he studied BA (Arts) in a private college in Davanagere and after passing applied for Degree Certificate six years ago. But till date the University has failed to issue the same.
