Arunachal: Govt for completion of road projects
Itanagar, Nov 8: Union Minister of state for Defence M M Pallam Raju has agreed to a proposal placed by MPs from Arunachal Pradesh for widening and immediate construction of all the major roads in the state maintained by Border Roads Organisatin (BRO).
The Union minister gave the assurances in a review meeting held at Tezpur in Asom recently for development of border areas, which was attended by NE MPs besides officials of BRO and Defence, according to Mr Kiren Rijiju (MP).
The meeting unanimously agreed for immediate completion of roads from Lumla - Teshigang in Bhutan, Tato - Taliha roads and early completion of Koloriang - Sarli roads besides, widening of roads from Bana to Seppa and all the major Defence roads in the state maintained by the BRO.
The meeting also decided the funding pattern for the road projects and its maintenance cost in Arunachal Pradesh would be reviewed and placed in the full fledge committee meeting, scheduled to be held in Delhi on November 20, Mr Rijiju added.
