By-election not referendum on seperate Telangana: BJP

Vijayawada, Nov 8 (UNI) Reacting to Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrasekhar Rao's statement that the by-election to the Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat would be a referendum on seperate Telangana, Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Andhra Pradesh president Indrasena Reddy today said the by-election would not be a referendum on the separate state.

Addressing the press here, Mr Reddy said the BJP would win the by-election comfortably.

He alleged the Congress and TRS had cheated people during the last two-and-a-half years by not fulfilling the promises given to them prior to the elections.

Mr Rao never paid attention to the people's problems in his constituency though he was a Minister in the UPA government, he charged.

No MP funds were utilised in the constituency, he alleged.

Mr Reddy said the BJP was firm on forming a separate Telangana state.
