BSNL to launch Excel connections with hand sets

Jaipur, Nov 8 (UNI) The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) would launch mobile connections with handsets from next year.

BSNL director (Finance) S D Saxena while addressing a press conferecne here today said the company is in the process of a tie up with a Taiwanese company for procuring hand sets. He said the hand sets would be avialble with the Rs 1000 pre-paid connections.

He said as per the on going projects BSNL has set a target of 20 lakh mobile connections in Rajasthan. With the completion of the work of capacity agumentation 3.09 crore population in 12,229 villages, In the next phase of the expansion of network in the state, BSNL aims to provide 12 lakh mobile connection in the rural areas, he added.

BSNL also plans the proliferation of its broadband services in a big way in the rural areas Mr Saxena said some special schemes were in the pipeline with broadband centres having the facility for booking Road, train and air tickets.
