AIR elected to ABU's administrative council
New Delhi, Nov 8 (UNI) The All India Radio (AIR) has been elected as a member of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU)'s administrative council for a period of two years.
The election was held at the 14-member group's 43rd General Assembly meeting underway at Beijing, China.
The ABU function as the executive of the premier broadcasting union in the world. AIR has also been appointed to the policy and strategy group of the ABU, according to a Prasar Bharati release here.
Aslo, AIR Engineer-in-Chief A S Guin was honoured with the ABU Broadcast Engineering Excellence award for his outstanding contribution in the field of broadcast engineering.
The meeting was attended by CEO Prasar Bharati Brijeshwar Singh and Mr Guin representing AIR and Doordarshan respectively, the release added.
