37th IFFI website launched at function in Kochi

Kochi, Nov 8 (UNI) The website of the 37th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), to be held at Goa from November 23, was formally launched here today to keep delegates and the media updated on the latest information on the eleven-day extravaganza.

Announcing the formal launch of the website, www.iffigoa.org, Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) General Manager Nikhil Desai said at a press conference that besides updates on the IFFI events, the website would also contain information on available logistics facilities like accommodation and transportation.

Movie clips, photographs and press releases were also being uploaded on the website for the use of mediapersons, he said.

The 37th IFFI poster, selected by the organisers after holding a national-level competition, was also unveiled at the press conference. The colourful poster, showing the IFFI's peacock logo, has been designed by Delhiite Shivani Sharama.

The poster captures the essence of IFFI as a vibrant and colourful festival representing India on the international film circuit, Mr Desai said.

Goa, which has been made the permanent venue for IFFI, will be hosting the festival for the third time. Nearly 104 movies from 44 countries, besides 24 feature and non-feature films in the Indian Panorama section, will be screened at IFFI this year.

Special retrospectives on Prithviraj Kapoor, G Aravindan, S D Burman, Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Satyajit Ray will be among the highlights of the festival.
