37th IFFI website launched

Kochi, Nov 8 (UNI) The website of the 37th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), to be held at Goa from November 23, was launched here today to keep the delegates and the media updated on the latest information on the 11-day extravaganza.

Addressing the media after announcing the formal launch of the website 'www.iffigoa.org', Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) General Manager Nikhil Desai said, besides updates of the IFFI events, the website would contain information on available logistics facilities like accommodation and transportation. Movie clips, photographs and press releases were also uploaded in the website for the use of mediapersons, he added.

The 37th IFFI poster, selected by the organisers after holding a national-level competition, was unveiled during the occasion. The colourful poster, showing the IFFI's peacock logo, was designed by Shivani Sharma from Delhi.

Mr Desai said the poster captured the essence of IFFI as a vibrant and colourful festival representing India on the international film circuit.

Goa, the permanent venue for IFFI would be hosting the festival for the third time. Nearly 104 movies from 44 countries, besides 24 feature and non-feature films in the Indian panorama section would be screened at the festival this year.

Special retrospectives on Prithviraj Kapoor, G Aravindan, S D Burman, Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Satyajit Ray would be among the highlights of the festival.
