New Delhi, Nov 7 (UNI) With a view to providing a ''healing touch'' to those affected by the sealing drive, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today proposed a ''re-settlement plan'' on the lines of the plan for 'jhuggi' dwellers of the capital.

However, the onus of formulating it rested with the Centre which controlled the DDA and the MCD, she said in the Assembly.

Ms Dikshit said in view of the Supreme Court's order on the sealing, the present government resolution didn't seem sufficient and the re-settlement plan be formulated on the lines of 'jhuggi' dwellers.

''An alternative scheme be announced by the Delhi Development Authority and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi for re-settling those affected by the sealing,'' the Chief Minister said.

More markets should be created and the land alloted by the MCD and the DDA, which were under the Centre, to rehabilitate those who were affected by the sealing, she told the House, adding, this might take time but ultimately provide relief to the people.

''It has been my government's policy to rehabilitate the uprooted 'jhuggi' dwellers through alternative site allocations and we want the same to be done for the affected traders,'' she said.

If the Delhi government was given the land it will certainly do its bit to provide succour to those hit by the Court's order, she said.

In reply to members' concern over the Delhi Master Plan 2021, which was being floated as a panacea for the present crisis, the CM said if the members wished she would try her best to include the Master Plan in the House's discussion.
