Rupee opens firm at 44.86/87 per USD

Mumbai, Nov 7: The rupee today opened firm by three paise and was quoted at Rs 44.86/87 per US dollar as compared to its previous close of Rs 44.89 per USD, a money market trader said.

Later, the domestic currency rose to Rs 44.80/81 per USD, and is now trading high at Rs 44.81/82 per USD due to fresh dollar demand by banks, forex dealers said.
