Mild quake in Kashmir, no damage done
Srinagar, Nov 7 (UNI) A mild earthquake of 3.4 magnitude was experienced in border areas of north Kashmir today.
Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) office here said the mild temblor occurred at 0906 hrs.
It epicentred 34.5 degree North latitude and 74.2 degree East longitude in the border region of Jammu and Kashmir.
However, there were no reports of any loss of life or damage to property.
It may be recalled about 1000 people were killed and several thousands rendered homeless in a devastating earthquake that ravaged parts of Jammu and Kashmir on October 8 last year.
The powerful temblor left several thousand people dead and millions destitute in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) as well.
