Lalu's final argument concludes in DA case
Patna, Nov 7 (UNI) The on going final argument of railway minister Lalu Prasad and his wife Ms Rabri Devi concluded in disproportionate assets(DA) case before a special court here today.
While concluding the final argument in the case, counsel of the political couple, Rana Pratap Singh said that sanction for prosecution granted by the Governor against Mr Prasad was not valid and legal.
The Counsel contended that the Governor did not take advice from the council of ministers before granting the sanction for prosecution.
'' The state law seceretary was the competent authority to sign the sanction order but the same was signed by the seceratry of the Governor,'' the counsel maintained.
Counsel Mr Singh informed the court that Ms Rabri Devi had submitted her income tax return prior to institution of the present case which had already been accepted by the income tax appeallate tribunal. When Ms Rabri Devi had her own income and identity, the charges of abatement framed against her was baseless, Mr Singh submitted.
The court fixed November 9 as the date for reply of CBI on law points.
