Kalam visualises Chhattisgarh as propsperous State by 2015
Raipur, Nov 7 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam today concluded the colourful seven day Rajyotasav(State festival) marking the completion of six years of for Chhattisgarh's formation, wishing the State a glorious future, and suggested implementation of six missions for its-all round prosperity and development.
"The six missions, if implemented, will go a long way in bringing economic prosperity and creating job opportunities in rural areas as the State has abudnant resources'' he observed speaking on the foundation day.
The President said if all the political parties, students and people in the State chip in, the economic condition of the state can be strengthened.
Dr Kalam said he had been watching closely the progress of Chhattisgarh ever since its creation six years ago under different Governments.
He said he had visited the tribal Bastar region of Chhattisgarh between 1985 and 1990 when he had interacted with the tribals and was deeply impressed by the rich forest wealth of the region.He had also visited the two important central institutions.
Visualising Chhattisgarh as a propserous state by the year 2015,Dr Kalam hoped the people living Below Poverty Line (BPL), which stood at 45 per cent today,will drop down to zero as against the national average of 22 per cent.
