Inspector ends life

Villupuram, Nov 7 (UNI) A 55-year old Inspector of Police-- attached to Tirukoilur Circle, allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service revolver, at his office at Tirukoilur near here today.

Police said the official Ananthanarayanan had assumed office following his transfer from Chennai only a few months back.

On information, top police officials rushed to the spot and removed the body for post mortem.

Police said investigation was under way to unravel what provoked him to take the extreme step.
