Hitachi signs agreement with Ingram Micro
Bangalore, Nov 7: Hitachi Data Systems Corporation has signed up with Ingram Micro for distribution of its products in India, Malaysia and Singapore.
The company, in a release here today, said the tie up was aimed at increasing Hitachi Data System's share in small and medium-sized enterprises in the three countries.
According to analyst group, Access Markets International (AMI) Partners, SMEs in India were on track to cross US Dollar 70 million on data storage solutions this year, the bulk of it on DAS (direct attached storage).
DAS had traditionally been the default choice among India's SMBs.
The ballooning number of network users, as well as the speed, capacity and plummeting prices offered by network storage, would also make it the preferred storage solution over the next few years, especially among SMEs.
