Court rejects Natrajan's bail application
Ranchi, Nov 7 (UNI) The bail application of suspended Jharkhand Inspector General of Police P S Natarajan, accused of exploiting a tribal woman, was today rejected by the court of Additional Judicial Commissioner.
The charges against him would be framed tomorrow.
Natarajan, who had been absconding for more than a year, had yesterday surrendered before the court of Additional Judicial Commissioner Anil Kumar Choudhary.
While hearing the bail application, the court observed that charges levelled against Natarajan were of serious nature and bail cannot be granted.
On July 31 last year, a private television channel had run a story showing the suspended IGP in a compromising position with a tribal woman.
The woman had later alleged that he forced her to have physical relations.
Natarajan had immediately gone underground, and the court declared him as an absconder.
Raids were conducted in several places in Uttar Pradesh, home state and Bihar to find him.
