Bhopal, Nov 7 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Congress Legal Cell today accused the state's Advocate General Ravinandan Singh of affecting the working of the High Court and submitted a memorandum to Governor Balram Jakhar demanding Mr Singh's dismissal.

''On November 3, Mr Singh asked the lawyers under him to stay away from work as a mark of protest against a dispute among advocates in Jabalpur. Mr Singh also urged the court to postpone that day's proceedings,'' the Cell's Chairman J P Dhanopia told reporters here.

Pointing out that thousands of petitions are pending before the court and the government was also a party in these cases, he added that hundreds of people who arrived for hearings on that day were strained.

''I have faxed a letter to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan,'' Mr Dhanopia added.
