40 students take ill after consuming mid-day meals

Mysore, Nov 7 (UNI) Forty students studying in Government Primary and Secondary school at K.Hemmanahalli in this taluk took ill after eating mid-day meals served in the school, today.

Police said the children complained of nausea and began vomiting.

They were immediately taken to K R Hospital here.

While 17 of them were admitted to the hospital, the rest were treated as outpatients and sent home. Those admitted were out of danger, doctors in the hospital said.

The reason for the food poisoning was not yet known.
