40 students fall ill after consuming mid-day meals

Mysore, Nov 7 (UNI) Forty students at a government school in Karnataka were taken ill after consuming mid-day meals served in the school today.

Children at the Government Primary and Secondary school at K Hemmanahalli in this taluk complained of nausea apparently due to food poisoning after consuming the mid-day meal, police said.

They were immediately taken to K R Hospital here. While 17 of them were admitted, the rest were treated as out-patients and sent home. Those admitted were out of danger, doctors at the hospital said.

The reason for food poisoning was not yet known.
