UP govt restrained from issuing order on Allahabad University
Allahabad, Nov 6 (UNI) Allahabad High Court has restrained the Uttar Pradesh government from issuing any order in favour or adversely affecting the Allahabad University (AU) teachers and employees or to withhold any grants, which have already been sanctioned and are in the process of disbursement.
A division bench comprising Justices S Ambwani and Dilip Gupta passed this order on a writ petition filed by Satish Chaturvedi.
Passing this interim order, the court said ''We also do not find appropriate for the government to have issued any directions to AU such until we hear and decide the matter, the varsity executive council shall not be compelled to consider the request of the state govenment.'' The state government has taken up the stand that AU executive committee should consider to exclude the medical college as 'university college'. The court will hear the case tomorrow.
The court has restrained the state government, pending the hearing of modification application of Uttar Pradesh.
