Two Meghalaya cops suspended for raping a woman

Shillong, Nov 6 (UNI) Meghalaya police has suspended two police constables on charges of abducting and raping a woman.

Shillong Superintendent of Police H Kharkrang said the first MLP constables -- Toroni Das and Ananta Dwara -- were suspended after the victim lodged a complaint charging the duo with abducting and raping her on November third at Botanical Gardens here.

Mr Kharkrang said one of the constables had been arrested while other one is at large.

He further said a man-hunt is on to trace him.

Meanwhile, three armed miscreants shot dead one coal dealer yesterday evening at Khliehriat in Jaintia Hills.

Police said an investigating was on to nab the miscreants.
