Two bandits slain in fierce encounter

Bhind, MP, Nov 6 (UNI) Two wanted dacoits were neutralised in an encounter that is still underway between the police and more than one bandit gang in this district's Chambal Valley.

''We received information that Munesh Kushwah -- carrying a reward of Rs 10,000 -- and Lala -- Rs 5,000 -- were hiding in a ravine, which was later surrounded. Youths Praveen and Jitendra were in Kushwah's clutches since October 13 and ransom of Rs 6 lakh and Rs 4 lakh had been demanded respectively. Police pressure forced the dacoits to free the duo in a forest today,'' said Superintendent of Police Rajbabu Singh.
