Tatas expects Corus deal to be complete by mid Jan

Kolkata, Nov 6: Tata Steel expects the acquisition of Anglo-Dutch Corus deal to be completed by middle of January.

Company's Managing Director B Mathuraman told reporters that the EGM is scheduled on December 4 and going by the calendar of events, the deal is expected to go through by middle of January.

Asked about the possibilities of other bidders, he said ''We have made the bid at a "fair value" and we arrived at the value after evaluating the real value of the company.'' Tatas had offered 455 pence per share and the total deal value was pegged at 4.2 billion pounds.

He said that the Tata Corus deal will lead to a lot of synergy and EBIDA margins will grow in future.
