Tata steel organises training camp for Bangladesh sports persons
Jamshedpur, Nov 6 (UNI) Tata Steel Deputy Managing Director Arun Narayan Singh today inaugurated a training camp here for the 18 Bangladesh sports persons under the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Singh said in accordance with the MoU signed by Tata steel and Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA), the company had agreed to impart training to the sportspersons of that country in three disciplines - archery, athletics and boxing.
Singh said training would be done as a preparations of coming Asian games and Commonwealth games.
Experts of the three disciplines would train the sportspersons, he said and added that such efforts would enhance friendship between the two countries.
The Bangladesh sprotspersons, selected by the BOA, comprised eight archers, six boxers and four athelets and four officials.
The archery team will also participate in the Commonwealth Archery Championship beginning here November 8.
