Subhiksha on overdrive in AP, opens 54 stores in 6 weeks
Hyderabad, Nov 6 (UNI) In keeping with its philosophy of neighbourhood presence, one of India's largest discount supermarkets, Subhiksha, has established 54 stores in Andhra Pradesh in a record time of six weeks averaging nine stores a week.
According to a company release, this rapid expansion involving the opening of 54 stores in districts like Hyderabad, Vizag, Vijayawada, Rajhamundry, Guntur and Kakinada, is credited to Subhiksha's powerful back end readiness and supply chain.
Subhiksha Trading Services Managing Director R Subramanian said the company's foray into the state had been planned at an investment of Rs 40 crore.
The company will open the 26 remaining stores in the state next month.
Subhiksha also has concrete plans to enter Maharashtra, Western UP, Punjab and Haryana in the next two months, he added.
