Showcause notice to IG (Prisons)

Patna Nov 6 (UNI) A local sessions court here today issued showcause notice to Inspector General (Prisons) of Bihar and Superintendent of Saharsa jail for failing to produce former MP Anand Mohan before the court in connection with Gopalganj District Magistrate G Krishnaiya murder case.

Additional district and sessions judge Ramsarest Roy directed both officials to file their explanations and produce Mr Mohan on November 20 next.

The order was passed when the officials failed to produce Mr Mohan in the case during the hearing in spite of issuance of production warrant.

Today DIG of Jharkhand C P Kiran was in attendance in the case as a witness.

The case was pending for prosecution evidence.

A few witnesses could not be examined as Mr Mohan, an accused, was not produced in the court.
