SHO in Rajouri suspended

Jammu, Nov 6 (UNI) A station house officer (SHO) in Rajouri district, who allegedly beat-up a civilian to death, was suspended and an inquiry into the incident ordered, official sources said here today.

The SHO of Darhal police station, Farooq Ahmed, was suspened by Rajouri SSP Farooq Khan.

According to a report, the victim, Ghulam Qadir, was detained three days back for interrogation and was ''brutally'' beaten up by Ahmed in police custody. Even when the victim was released he was not allowed to be taken to Rajouri for treatment as the police feared that the matter would come to light.
