Security beefed up to tackle Maoists
Patna, Nov 6: Apprehending attempts by the CPI(Maoist) to disturb peace and order on the occasion of ''Revolution Day'' tomorrow, the Bihar government beefed up security measures in the state as East Central Railway cancelled a number of local trains till midnight November seven.
Additional DGP(HQs) Abhayanand said district Police Superintendents had been asked to identify vulnerable areas, maintain special vigil in government buildings and railway installations.
''Personnel from district armed police and special auxiliary force would be pressed into service to help mainntain law and order,'' he added.
Special vigil would be maintained in Maoist-affected areas of Masaudi and Pali of Patna district besides the districts of Jehanabad, Gaya, Aurangabad, Arwal, Rohtas, Nalanda, Nawada and Jamui, Mr Abhayanand said.
Four pairs of local trains would stand cancelled tomorrow due to security reasons, railway sources at Hajipur announced.
