Rs 1280 crore paddy purchased in Haryana

Chandigarh, Nov 6 (UNI) The Haryana government has disbursed a sum of Rs 1280 crore to the farmers for purchase of 19.69 lakh tonnes of paddy so far this season.

Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said the HAFED had procured 8.69 lakh tonnes of paddy for which a payment of Rs 565.03 crore was made to the farmers.

Similarly, Food and Supplies Department had purchased 5.90 lakh tonnes of paddy with a payment of Rs 383.13 crore to the farmers.

Haryana Agro Industries Corporation had procured 2.33 lakh tonnes of paddy and the payment of Rs 151.30 crore had been made to the farmers.

Confed had purchased 1.60 lakh tonnes and the farmers had been given a sum of Rs 108.44 crore.

Haryana Warehousing Corporation had procured one lakh tonne and the payment of Rs 50 crore was made.

Similarly, Food Corporation of India had purchased 10,000 tonnes of paddy and disbursed Rs 6.98 crore to the farmers.
