Prison superintendent arrested for accepting bribe

Patna, Nov 6 (UNI) Superintendent of Sitamarhi divisional jail Prem Kumar was arrested today after he was caught red handed by vigilance sleuths while accepting bribe of Rs one lakh from a businessman.

Additional DGP in vigilance bureau Nilmani said a special team comprising three Deputy Superintendents of the bureau was constituted to trap Mr Prem Kumar following a tip off that he was demanding Rs one lakh from a supplier Ram Lakhan Prasad.

He said team of T N Mishra, Dr Parvez Akhtar and Amzed Ali today found Mr Prem Kumar accepting the amount from the supplier at his official residence. He added the superintendent would be produced before the special vigilance court tomorrow after interrogation during the night.
