Police official rapped for false complaint of domestic violence
Akola, Nov 6 (UNI) A local court has directed Superintendent of Police of Akola district to take action against an errant police official, alleged to have helped a woman frame a case of domestic violence against her husband, son and in-laws.
As per the details of the case, Sunita Kapsikar had lodged a police complaint against her husband Punneshwar Kapsikar, her son and in-laws accusing them of domestic violence.
In her complaint, Ms Kapsikar had alleged that her husband and son were involved in illegitimate affairs, and wanted to bring their partners home.
When she objected, she was beaten up by her husband, son and also in-laws on October 14, she alleged.
However, in the court, Punneshwar produced evidence that he was absent from the scene of the alleged crime on the said date, and alleged that the entire incident was concocted with the help of a police officer.
Additional sessions judge Shridhar K Kulkarni yesterday told DSP of Akola to take action against the accused police official.
