IRP jawan injured in north Kashmir encounter
Baramulla, Nov 6: A jawan of Indian Reserve Police (IRP) was injured when militants attacked a patrol party in north Kashmir last night, official sources said today.
Militants fired on a patrol party at Kulangam Handawara in the frontier district of Kupwara last night. Security forces returned fire and in the ensuing encounter, one IRP jawan Nazir Ahmad was injured, the sources said.
Later, reinforcements were rushed to the area from nearby army camps.
How+ever, the militants managed to escape, sources said.
