MP Assy pays tributes to former member
Bhopal, Nov 6 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Assembly was today adjourned for five minutes after members paid tribute to former member Shivanand.
Vidhan Sabha Speaker Ishwardas Rohani read out the obituary reference before the Question Hour started.
Paying tributes on the behalf of the BJP, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said Mr Shivanand played an important role in launching movement for weaker sections in Bundelkhand and Baghelkhand regions.
He even went to jail while struggling for issues related to public welfare.
Mr Chouhan said though Mr Shivanand belonged to the Congress, his death had caused an irreparable loss for everyone given his prominent role in social life.
Leader of Opposition in state assembly Jamuna Devi paid tributes on the behalf of the Congress.
Mr Manmohan Singh (GGP), Mr Vanshmani Prasad Verma (SP), Mr Hamid Qazi (NCP) and Mr Ramlakhan Sharma (CPI(M)) also paid tributes.
