Students expresses concern about Bru cadres

Aizawl, Nov 06: The state's apex students' body Mizo Zirlai Pawl(MZP) here today expressed concern about the Bru Liberation Front of Mizoram (BLFM) who surrendered recently.

In a statement, the MZP pointed out that the Brus, who left the state nearly a decade ago, after levelling false allegations against the Mizo people on human rights violations and atrocities.

The statement reiterated, ''There is no opposition to rehabilitate the actual Mizoram residents from the Bru refugee camps in Tripura but any attempts to infiltrate by non-resident Brus would be strongly opposed.

The MZP has initiated steps to separate Mizoram residents from the BLFM cadres. The issue would be taken up at a joint meeting to be held with the NGO Coordination Committee soon.

''We have requested the state police to furnish us with the names and actual residential addresses of the surrendered BLFM cadres before they fled Mizoram but nothing has yet been received'', the statement added.
