Manipur lifts All India police football trophy

Gangtok, Nov 6 (UNI) Manipur won the 55th BN Mullik Memorial All India Police football championships defeating CRPF 3-0 in the final match here today.

N Desh Kumar Singh scored a brace while Shyam Chand Singh netted the third goal for Manipur police team.

The first half ended without scoring a goal.

N Desh Kumar Singh scored in the 59th and 89th minutes while Shyam Chand Singh booted home twelve minutes before the final whistle.

Sikkim Governor V Rama Rao presented the trophy and prizes to the winners and runners-up.

SSB routed Tripura 4-1 for the third spot.

Altogether 32 teams had participated in the tournament.
