Jet Airways launch Kol-Port Blair and Kol-Bangkok daily flights
Kolkata, Nov 6 (UNI) Jet Airways, India's premier private airlines, will introduce daily morning flight to Port Blair and Bangkok from Kolkata and launch the fourth flghts to Delhi also from Kolkata between November eleven and January 12, 2007.
" The city of joy has always been an integral part of our network and we are now pleased to announce expansion of our operations in view of the increasing traffic in the eastern region, " said Chief Executive Officer Wolfgang Prock-Schauer here today.
Effective November 11, Jet Airways will operate a daily flight to Port Blair. The Boeing 737-700 flight 9W 629 will depart at 0500 hrs and reach Port Blair at 0700 hrs and on the return leg 9W 630 will leave Port Blair at 0735 hrs and reach Kolkata at 0935 hrs.
Mr Schauer said, " Ever since bookings have opened the flight between Kolkata and Port Blair has been fully booked for the next three months. It shows the enormous traffic potential that exists on this sector and is also a reflection on the quality of the product and service offered by Jet Airways. " Jet Airways will also operate an early evening service on the Kolkata-Delhi sector from December 1,2006. The flight 9W 913 will depart Kolkata at 1750 hrs and reach Delhi at 2000 hrs. On the return sector, flight 9W 914 will leave Delhi at 2040 hrs and reach Kolkata at 2250 hrs.
In addition, Mr Schauer said, " We have recently been designated by the Centre for operating flights on the India-Thailand route. We will commence daily Boeing 737-800 flights from Kolkata to Bangkok as also from Delhi to Bangkok effective January, 2007. " Jet Airways has recently received the third Boeing 737-800 with In-flight Entertainment System (IFE), which will operate on the Delhi-Bangalore-Chennai-Coimbatore sectors. Over the next one year, the airlines will induct six more new generation aircraft with winglets, which will replace the existing Boeing 737-800 aircraft, the CEO said.
Having one of the youngest aircraft fleet in the world, Jet Airways operate over 330 daily flights to 49 destinations in India and abroad, including London, Heathrow in the UK, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Colombo in Sri Lanka, Kathmandu in Nepal, Mr Schauer said.
