HM militant, civillian killed in Doda

Jammu, Nov 6 (UNI) The security forces today gunned down a Hizbul Mujahideen(HM) militant in an encounter at Chhatroo in Doda district, sources said here.

The sources said acting on tip-off, security forces started a search operation at Shiri in Chhatrooo area this evening and killed HM militant Bisharat in the encounter.

Army sources, however, said they could not confirm the killing as the body of the militant is yet to be recovered. But they said the security forces intercepted a wireless message of militants that their one fighter has been killed.

Police sources said one AK 47 rifle, one magazine and 18 rounds were recovered from the encounter site. Search for the body of the slain militant was on when the reports last came in.

Meanwhile, in another incident two Rashtriya Rifles (RR) busted a hideout and recovered on AK rifle, six rounds, 15 AK 47 rounds, 12 .303 rounds, three kg explosive at Adhback Cantoo forest in Basantgarli in Udhampur district today.

Elsewhere, some unknown militants set ablaze the residential house of one Noor Jamwal, under Gool police station, in Ramban district in the inter vening night.
