Five vehcile lifters arrested

Bhopal, Nov 6: A vehicle lifter gang was busted when five persons were arrested and 19 vehicles seized in Katni district of Madhya Pradesh, according to information from state police headquarters.

Jabalpur Inspector General of Police V K Singh said yesterday that the accused used to get stolen vehicles registered from transport department through agents of finance companies on the basis of fake documents in the name of auctioning them. Later, these vehicles were sold.

A list of suspected vehicles was prepared as a part of intensive checking being carried out in the district and the activities of transport department of Shahdol came under suspicion.

Prafful Bharti, Rizwan Azmi, Rakesh Vastri, Sushil Kangde and Pyare Khan were arrested.
