Family members kill woman and baby child

Sambalpur, Nov 6 (UNI) In a shocking incident, a woman and her two-year-old child were murdered today allegedly by the family members.

The incident took place in a remote village at Kantatikra and police arrested one Sunaki Rana in connection with the incident.

Jharsugura police station officer in-charge P K Raut said other family members of the deceased were also detained for investigation.

Police said Rajesh Rana of Kantatikra was married to Sailendri after death of his first wife a year back. He had a girl child from his first wife.

But the miscreants killed the gild child - Khusi(2) and Sailendri. The body of Sailendri was found inside the house in a pool of blood and the body of the girl was fished out of a well, police said.

Family dispute is said to be the reason behind the murder.
