Exfiltration bid foiled, 4 militants held in Kashmir
Srinagar, Nov 6: Troops foiled yet another exfiltration bid when they arrested four militants near the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector of north Kashmir late last night, a defence ministry spokesman said.
He said troops guarding the border in Uri sector noticed a group of militants trying to cross over to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) under the cover of darkness last night.
When challenged, all the four militants surrendered without any resistance.
The militants confessed that they were going to POK for receiving further arms training.
They further said they were forcibly being taken by a militant organisation.
A number of exfiltration attempts were also foiled by the security forces and the state police. About 60 Kashmiri youths were arrested before they could sneak into POK by the security forces and police after they were ''forcibly recruited'' by different outfits in the valley during the past six months.
However, majority of them were later handed over to their parents after they were found to be innocent.
