CPM protests death sentence to Saddam
Chennai, Nov 6 (UNI) Communist Party of India (Marxist) volunteers today staged a demonstration in Dindigul and Vellore in Tamil Nadu protesting the death sentence given to deposed Former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein the a 'US-backed' Iraq court.
According to party sources, the volunteers wearing black badges, led by Party MLA Bala Bharathi, staged a demonstration at Dindigul, shouting anti-US slogans.
They also burnt copies of newspapers carrying the news on the death sentence.
Demonstrators at Vellore shouted slogans demanding the Union Government condemn the judgement.
Members of the Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam led by its founder president Kolathur Mani also staged a similar demonstration in front of the head post office at Salem.
