Cheaper Trade Fair tickets at all metro stations

New Delhi, Nov 6 (UNI) With a view to easing movement of people to India International Trade Fair and encourage them to use public transport, Delhi Metro Rail Corp will sell fair tickets at all its stations, that too five rupees cheaper than the normal gate fare.

In addition, the DMRC would also be extending the Dwarka- Barakhamba Line up to Indraprastha with a station at Pragati Maidan before the trade fair began on November 14, a statement said.

The Pragati Maidan metro station had been built over an area of 6800 sq m and would have eight automatic fare collection entry gates and 12 exits apart from six ticket counters at the ground level and another six counters at the concourse level.

Additional ticket counters could be provided if considered necessary depending upon the crowd. Extra automatic gates had been provided to cater to the heavy rush expected during the trade fair.

In addition, a special 300 metre-long pathway had been built at Pragati Maidan Metro Station so that passengers could have direct access to Hall no. 12 at Pragati Maidan.

DMRC is also planning to deploy Metro 'Sahayaks' and guides at the platforms, AFC gates, lifts and escalators along with security supervisors to help and guide commuters during the fair that would last till November 27.
