Centre to set up software tech park in Mizoram

Aizawl, Nov 6: Union Information Technology Ministry has chalked out a blue-print for setting up a Software Technology Park of India (STPI) in Mizoram.

It was disclosed in a recent review meeting of Community Information Centres(CIC) by the task force committee headed by Union IT Secretary D S Mathur.

Asom STPI Assistant Director Debajit Sarma was already sent as an envoy by the Centre to Mizoram for inspecting the building offered for STPI by the state government.

According to the project details, the STPI would include an earth station to serve as an international gateway hooking up with Intel satellite.

The STPI would be established with bandwidth on demand and last-mile connectivity. There would be seamless connectivity to help promote small and medium scale entrepreneurs.

State Project Director-IT Lalrodingi said,''We are happy to learn that STPI will soon be here. Our department is ready to help and give all support to any IT developer in or from outside our country.''
