Centre reviews ASOM situation, HS goes to Guwahati
New Delhi, Nov 6 (UNI) The Centre today reviewed the security situation arising out of the twin blast in Guwahati in ASOM, which killed 14 people and injured about 57 others yesterday, and indicated that the Ultras responsible for the blasts would be firmly dealt with.
Home Secretary V K Duggal, before leaving to ASOM to take stock of the situation, held a high level meeting here this morning to discuss the situation. He said mindless violence could not take us anywhere but with people's cooperation fitting reply would be given to those responsible for such inhuman acts.
Though investigations have not zeroed out in any one insurgent group responsible for the blasts, the Centre is suspecting ULFA's hand behind the twin blasts.
In Guwahati, he participated in the Security Review Meeting, in which state Chief-Secretary, Director General of Police, Army and para-military Officials also participated. Mr Duggal also interacted with the Army and para-military officials in the state and discussed the security scenario.
