BSNL grabbed 36 p c market share in '05-06

Tirupati, Nov 6 (UNI) The BSNL occupied 36 per cent market share in the Telecom sector of Andhra Pradesh against other telecom private sector services in 2005-06, state Telecom Circle Chief Genral Manager Arnold said, here today.

Addressing a newsconference, he said annual revenue increased 10 per cent every year. "There are 1,667 cell towers with equipped capacity of 19 lakh lines and 15 lakh more will be added along with 674 new towers, this year", he said.

Stating that present equipped capacity of broad band was 73,000, he said there were 63,444 broad band connections.

Tirupati Telecom District Genral Manager R Mani said the region registered Rs 101 crore revenue in the last year.
