Benefits of e-Learning need to reach all: Seminar
Hyderabad, Nov 6 (UNI) The benefits of e-Learning should reach the unreachable especially rural, women, disabled and adult sections of the society, Pankaj Agarwal, Joint Secretary (e-Learning), Department of Information Technology, Union Government said.
Inaugurating an international seminar on 'e-Learning and e-Learning Technologies', specially for the Association of South East Asian Nation (ASEAN) members here today, he exhorted the participants to focus on the emerging trends and standards in the field.
He further advocated that the seminar should identify at least one best e-Learning practice of every country and remodel them for adoption in other countries for economic growth.
Director General of the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) R Ramakrishnan said e-Learning would play a key note in knowledge-based societies in the era of globalisation.
He urged the nations to collaborate on open courseware and adopt them to the local conditions, culture and languages to generate related knowledge initiatives.
Delegates from Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Phillippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam are participating in the seminar.
