Action in Durgawati project on Centre's direction - Nitish

Patna, Nov 6 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said the action in Durgawati project was taken following the Centre's directions.

Talking to newsmen here, Mr Kumar ruled out the action as ''politically motivated' and said whatever action had been initiated in the irregularities in Durgawati project was based on the Centre's directive.

He said the government had sought further direction from the Centre on the matter and assured that the guilty would not be spared.

Mr Kumar said he had not initiated the matter but it was the previous government, which had sought direction from the Centre on it.

Mr Kumar further stated that the Centre put some conditions on the project following which the work was suspended and any action would be initiated as per the Centre's directive.
