59-yr-old former FCI Asst Manager jumps to death in Connaught Place
New Delhi, Nov 6 (UNI) A 59-year-old former Assistant Manager of Food Corporation of India today allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the FCI building in Connaught Place area of New Delhi this afternoon.
Krishan Kumar Gupta, Assistant Manager (Training) at the FCI who took voluntary retirement in October 2004, today jumped from the 11th floor of the building at about 1230 hrs, according to sources.
A resident of Dilshad Garden, Gupta had come to collect his dues from the office. He even had tea with his former colleagues before taking the fatal plunge.
No suicide note has been found with him, said the police, adding they did not suspect any foul play.
Family sources said he had been suffering from 'effective disorder' -- a kind of depression, and undergoing treatment since 2003.
Gupta was a widower and his two sons are well settled.
