5 lakh employees postpone strike
Gwalior, Nov 6 (UNI) Following an assurance by the Madhya Pradesh government, five lakh officers and other employees who were to launch an indefinite strike from November 8, postponed the agitation today.
''Panchayats Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will make an announcement regarding the demands by December,'' Joint Action Committee General Secretary Rajendra Singh Bhadauria told UNI.
Principal demands included merger of 50 per cent dearness allowance with the basic salary and relaxation of rules for appointment on compassionate grounds.
