Two killed as truck rams into police van in Asom

Guwahati, Nov 5 (UNI) Two persons, including a policeman, were killed when a truck ran over their official van during a routine check near Beltola police station in the city late last night, police sources today said.

The sources said that the van was parked in middle of the road to block trucks for routine cheching, when the incident occurred at about 2330 hours. However, the truck did not halt and proceeded on its course, after running over the van.

A policeman and the driver of the van, who were inside the vehicle, were killed, police said.

The truck was later seized but the driver and handyman managed to flee.
